I’ve done it, too. The excuses.

No one is perfect, but God calls us to sanctification. It is His will! Thankfully, the power to do so comes from Him. We are just the vessel for His wisdom, knowledge, grace, peace, joy, mercy, and hope.

Challenge yourself today - pretend someone important is standing in the room with you. TV cameras. Someone you admire. Someone famous. Someone that you’d be embarrassed to be rude in front of.

Now, ask the Lord to give you that same feeling without that person. That your family is enough. And never forget His watchful eye. The Lord is in your home, too! He’s not waiting to strike you with lightning at every stray word, but it does break His heart and He wants better for us!

What would you add?

When I read the Bible, I see professionalism in homemaking. Women dedicating their whole life to the ministry of home. They ministered not just to their family, but also guests and the Lord.

“…I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy;

“…I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.” Psalm 27:6b

The Bible doesn’t say women need to be quiet *always*. It does say a lot about speaking graciously, “with salt”, kind, truthfully, lovingly, humbly.

If you’re anything like me, you weren’t really taught how to politely express needs and wants. I was just kind of left to myself and developed poor habits, but maybe you were shown poor habits. Or, maybe you were taught to never express anything for a variety of reasons.

Either way, God wants us all to grow in this and He can do it in us!

The mental gymnastics folks go through to excuse marriage intimacy is really sad!

It is not just physical. It is ALSO SPIRITUAL.

Yes, you can get yourself in the mood if you are not at first. What is more important than this incredible bond and experience you cannot have with anyone else???

As always - ask yourself when anyone says anything about marriage - “how does this function with Christ and the church?”

Can we refuse fellowship - the exsct same word for marriage intimacy - with Christ? I mean… you *can* but will it go well? No!

Will you always feel like it? No!
But can you start anyway and then end up enjoying it? YES!!

Look, no one wants you to have a horrible time but usually the biggest barrier is women’s own thoughts.

So, if you don’t feel like it, don’t do it with a bad attitude. But also don’t refuse your husband! Go for it, change your mind and heart, and ENJOY!

Some ppl may say it’s a stretch or weird or irreverent to relate it to our relationship with God, but nothing could be more clear. It is a shadow of things to come. We are His BRIDE. We are headed to the marriage supper! He is going to take us to the honeymoon chambers. The marriage wording is ALL throughout the Bible. Nothing could be more well laid out.

Marriage = the gospel

That’s why it’s under such attack.
